Last year was the first year PRWA had the funding needed to begin robustly serving rural Washington communities. In December 2024, we had only 3 contracted staff, a lot of ideas, and almost no one knew Washington had a State Rural Development Council (SRDC).
What a year 2025 was! And now for that dazzling infographic I promised….
We still have quite a few pending grant applications and some additional awards to announce soon. We’re assisting communities with their federal spending requests and planning our first conference, The Rural Exchange, focused completely on solutions for rural communities with fewer than 1500 people. We’ve also got a few other new projects in the works, as well as preparing our one-year update on our ROAR communities.
I’m thinking 2026 is going to tell 2025 to hold its beer 😉
