Washington State Rural Symposium

Governor Jay Inslee opened the Rural Symposium on Wednesday April 12th 2017, sponsored by the Washington State Department of Commerce and Partners for Rural Washington (PRWA). 80 rural community stakeholders and service providers convened at the Governor Hotel in Olympia WA to assess ways rural areas can better access services based on prioritized rural needs. An additional goal of the meeting was identifying ways that funding resources can be effectively maximized and leveraged to help support rural community and economic development activities. Attendees at the meeting were asked to identify their highest priority needs. A summary of these is being sent out to all attendees.
PRWA and Commerce both desire to improve communication, collaboration and coordination statewide in ways that can best benefit rural communities. Please contact us for more information about the Rural Symposium and PRWA.
